IMVINI WETHU | Our joint heart project

„Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.“

Behind this motto is a unique cooperation of specialist retailers and sponsors who have South Africa as a wine country at heart and who support the wine industry at the Cape, which is in crisis, with the specially created wine Imvini Wethu Cinsault Pinotage. The majority of the proceeds from the sale of this special red wine, made by young winemakers from old vines, will benefit the Cape Winemakers Guild's Protégé Programme and the Old Vine Project.

THE IMVINI WETHU IN DETAIL

PROTÉGÉ PROGRAMME

The Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé Programme is a continuing education programme for young winemakers. Established in 2006, it aims to develop the next generation of award-winning winemakers and viticulturists by mentoring successful winemakers while driving change in the industry.

OLD VINE PROJECT

The Old Vine Project is a globally unique organisation that works to protect and preserve old vines in South Africa. The activities of the Old Vine Project help to improve the economic viability of these vineyards and support the farmers. With the introduction of the "Certified Heritage Vineyards Seal" and the indication of the year of planting, the authenticity of the indication "Old Vines" on the label is guaranteed - and thus also the special value of these wines.
